I was born November 28th, 1990 in Maracaibo, Venezuela, my passion for filmmaking began at age 11 when my sister found a Hi8 camera and I held it for the first time. My heart started racing, my ears turned red and I couldn’t let it go. They tried to hide the camera from me, thinking I was going to ruin it, but I cried and cried until they let me use it.
I became interested in the arts since early childhood, while also showing fascination with science, physics and cosmology after my parents bought me a telescope. I used to look at the moon every now and then, thinking if we were the only ones in the universe. I started learning photography when I was 14 and playing the piano at 15, when I became interested in composing. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Zulia where I got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts. Two years later I began my journey in the US.
I gained popularity in Venezuela and Latin America after releasing The Alejandro Hernández Show in 2009. The comedy show became a viral hit, with some of my videos surpassing the million views and earning celebrity status in my country. Crazy.
I am now focused on my filmmaking career.
